Please don't shout at me. That's not respectful of each other. If I can't
make my points with you in with you in ordinary tones, I'll stop trying,
but I won't shout at you.

As I've already said, I don't claim to know anything about any aspects of
the DMCA except those that deal with copyrights. If this is not a
discussion about copyright and its enforcement, I'll have to bow out.

My point has already been made that an attempt to repeal the DMCA in it's
entirety, rather than one to amend and revise portions you find
objectionable, would do harm to hundreds of thousands like myself, who would
otherwise would be either passive about whatever failings of the DMCA you
wish to correct or perhaps even active supporters. But because attempts to
repeal the DMCA in its entirety would again expose my work to easy theft, I
would have to oppose that out of my own reasonable self-interest.

The solution to political problems is political. That means making
alliances based on shared interests. It could be possible to win the
support of us freelance creators, a not insignificant group that has great
resources to offer, without killing the entire DMCA that serves our interests.

Are my interests something you would be willing to accommodate in
anticipation of support from people like me? What portions of the DMCA
that offend you might be changed without killing the portions that protect
my own interests?

Thank you, Joe
