He brought up a point for discussion, and I think he's made a valid
point.  Namely that the dmca gives a large class of otherwise nearly
powerless people a convenient (and cheap) way to enforce their rights.

So part of the DMCA is seen as useful by joe.  Michael believes that
its a nusience.  I can see both sides of it, but I believe that using
a group like the "Church" of Scientology as an example is misleading,
since they've twisted other existing laws to their ends as well, and
I don't understand how they can be seen as a reason to eliminate a
law when they're obviously abusers of the legal system.
