Hi folks,

Perhaps this is a bit premature, but what the hey.

We've been working on a linux hardware compatibility directory
site for a few months now and believe it's close to ready to spring
onto the world.

The goal of the site is to develop a centralized hardware compatibility
database that is usable, provides helpful information on working any
gadget that talks to a PC under Linux, and when appropriate, can help
users steer clear of TCPA/Palladium booby-trapped components (which was
my original motivation for starting it).

We will depend on community support to help us populate the database.

We've started it off with some of our own reports.

Unlike most of these kinds of sites, we very much intend to make
money doing it -- AND plan to funnel all of this money right back into
free software advancing groups*

Perhaps we can even pay our bills in the process. ;)

Let me know what you think.

* I realize right now our word will have to be good enough, but we're
not against turning this into an official organization with very
specific, enforceable policies. A bridge to cross in due time.
