[nylug-talk] career advice

Don't know if this really belongs here, but I gather there is some good
advice on this list for this topic:
My stats: BS CS 2 years ago, working full time as netadmin for 120 user
co. 1.5 years full time IT exp + 4 year part time IT exp (windows). Only
recently (about a year ago) have I began to dabble in Linux (both as a
hobby and professionally (one Linux server at work)). Only cert I hold is
CCNA.
So, I'd like to move towards more Linux administration roles in the near
future. But, I also would like to wear the hat of a manager in the future
as well. My ultimate career goal would allow me to have hands on with
technology which I enjoy, and the responsibilities of managing IT in that
same setting.
Any "seasoned" IT folks out there with advice? Do I work towards Linux
certifications to supplement my hobby/professional exp? Do I work towards
an MS or MBA instead and use on my IT experience to get me to the next
steps?
How did you get where you are?
Thanks,
Pete
