Thanks again, Sunny,
That site says:
It may seem confusing, but faster memory will NOT necessarily make
your system faster. Your computer will only run as fast as the
"slowest link" in your system, so you can't speed up your computer by
adding faster memory. The way to make your system faster is to add
more megabytes (MB) of memory.
which I'm interpreting to mean it's not necessarily harmful to put
memory of different speeds into your computer, but that all the memory
will work at the lowest common denominator
Maybe the current price difference is more an indication of both why
that's what I got when I upgraded it & why it died after only 1.5 yrs
my dead 100MHz 256MB Micron RAM (I'm about 95% sure):
http://www.memorysuppliers.com/mic25pc144pi.html
$45
crucial's 100MHz 256MB recommendation: (part CT235864)
$108
though memorysupplier's selection process actually recommended the $80
133MHz 256MB http://www.memorysuppliers.com/kin25pc144pi1.html
I can't actually afford any of it right now anyway. I just wanted to
find out how much I should worry about it.
